Modernisations

When we were set up in March 2002 we started a five-year £58million investment programme to bring all our homes up to a modern standard. As part of this programme of improvement work half the kitchens and one third of bathrooms were modernised, double-glazed windows were installed, cavity walls and lofts were insulated and central heating installed where necessary.

Having achieved this work ahead of target and within budget, we launched CHP Plus in 2007/08 in accordance with our residents requests. As well as continuing with traditional modernisation works, we are also improving security on external doors, increasing safety by installing carbon monoxide alarms and lights with sensors, along with improving bathing facilities by installing showers over baths.

We have our own team to carry out modernisation work and we use different contractors to carry out the work on our behalf.
