How to apply

It’s important we find the right person for every role. We’re looking for people with the drive, talent and passion to provide the best service to our customers. We value the contribution our people make to the success of our organisation and have no barriers in our recruitment process.

We use a standard recruitment process for all our jobs. We only accept applications for advertised job vacancies. We do not accept speculative CVs.

Our recruitment process

Job advertisement

All roles are advertised in the vacancies section. Alternatively, if you are interested in undertaking a work experience placement with us, please visit our work experience page.

Please use the link to the specific vacancy on the vacancies page.

If you require an application in a different format, are experiencing technical difficulties or would like feedback, please email or telephone our recruitment team on 01245 613199 (24 hour answerphone).

Early application is encouraged as we will review applications throughout the advertising period and reserve the right to close the advert early.

A recruitment panel will review applications against the shortlisting criteria. If you are selected for interview, we will contact you to arrange a time to meet us.

The interview and interview questions will be designed around the role you have applied for. You will be asked criteria-based questions which will help us to assess your skills, behaviours and personal competencies.

If required, we will ask you to complete a work-related test on the day of your interview. This will be based on elements of the role that you have applied for. Both interview and test performance will contribute to your overall result. For some roles you may be required to complete self-assessments, verbal and numerical tests and psychometric tests.

Job offer

If you are the successful candidate, then we will make a job offer to you. All job offers are conditional upon the completion of pre-employment checks. The offer will specify the salary, benefits and location for the job.

Pre-employment checks

As part of our recruitment process, prospective employees will be subject to pre-employment checks before joining including:

  • References - all job offers are subject to the receipt of two references satisfactory to us, one of whom should be your present or most recent employer;
  • Medical – successful applicants will be asked to complete a medical questionnaire, which is assessed by our occupational health advisor, and may be required to undergo a medical examination if necessary;
  • DVLA driving licence check – for posts that require driving;
  • Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) – where applicable;
  • Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS) – where applicable.

As a Disability Confident Employer, we are committed to providing equal opportunities for anyone who wants to work with us, and value equality and diversity. Any disabled applicant who meets the essential requirements of the job is guaranteed an interview.

We make every effort to eliminate discrimination, direct and indirect, from our recruitment and selection process. Where applicable, reasonable adjustments will be made to reduce any potential barriers faced by applicants to give equal access to employment opportunities.
