Insurance

We strongly advise you to take out home contents insurance to cover theft or damage to your personal belongings, carpets, furniture and other household contents including redecoration after a claim. We are not responsible for the contents of your home.

Contents insurance gives you the peace of mind that you will not have to find the money to replace your personal possessions if they are damaged or stolen.

We work with Crystal Insurance to provide insurance at reasonable rates. They can provide standard cover, which insures you against fire, theft, vandalism and water damage for your furniture, TV, clothing, carpets and electrical goods. Cover for accidental damage and bicycles are also available.

To arrange cover call Crystal Insurance on 0345 450 7286 or email crystal at thistleinsurance.co.uk advising that you are a CHP resident.

Leaseholders

Buildings insurance

Leaseholders and Shared Owners do not need to arrange their own buildings insurance as this is something we do and is paid for within your service charges.

We will arrange buildings insurance for all buildings where we are the freeholder (own the structure of the building) and will insist that external management companies have up to date buildings insurance where we are not the freeholder, as this is their responsibility.

Where we have arranged buildings insurance this will be through AJG Insurance, please use links on the right to view the latest insurance schedule and policy information which includes what is covered and how to make a claim.

Where buildings insurance has been arranged via an external management company you should have been sent a copy of the insurance documents by them directly. Please contact the insurers or you management company if you have any questions or need to make a claim.

If you are unsure if we or an external management company arrange your buildings insurance please call our Leasehold Team who will be able to clarify this for you.

Buildings insurance covers damage to the structure of the buildings caused directly by 'specific acts of peril'. This is a legal term which covers things like fires or floods.

Contents Insurance

Contents insurance covers your possessions, furniture and any goods within your home. These items are not covered by building insurance. If there is a fire, flood or other damage to your home, you won't be able to claim for lost possessions if you don't have contents insurance. We recommend that you consider arranging a suitable policy.
