Life skills

We can help you develop skills needed to deal with some of the challenges of life.

Saving money

Managing money can be difficult. We have a specialist team available to help you maximise your income. This includes helping you make claims for additional benefits. Plus signposting you to where you can find tips on budgeting and saving money, so that you don’t spend more than you can afford.

If you’d like help, please email imt@chp.org.uk or call us on 0300 555 0500. (Text relay: 18001 0300 555 0500).

You can also find lots of advice and a free budgeting tool on the MoneyHelper website. Look after my bills is another useful tool where you can check if you’re getting the best value for your gas and electricity.

Using technology

If you’d like to develop your skills with everyday technology like your smartphone or a computer, we have free courses you can take through our partner Learn My Way. Courses include online safety, using emails, managing your money and finding a job online. You’ll be able to track your progress and print certificates of your learning achievements.

For more information and to register, visit Learn My Way and enter the centre number: 8001918.

Need help getting online?

If you’d like to take part in online learning but don't have a computer or tablet device, visit the Online Centres Network. Enter your postcode to find out where there’s a centre near you. They provide free internet, equipment and help so you can get access to online courses.

You are so understanding and helpful. I’ve been struggling financially and had a tough two years. You have always tried helping me instead of putting more stress on me. I suffer with my mental health and I can’t thank the team enough for their support.
