20th Anniversary for CHP sheltered scheme

Yeoman Lodge celebratesOLDER residents of Essex based housing association, CHP, recently enjoyed a coffee and cakes morning to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their sheltered scheme, Yeoman Lodge.

Resident Mary Mandall, 77, who has lived at Yeoman Lodge, in Chelmsford, since moving into the scheme in August 1994, received flowers - a framed photo dating from when the scheme opened - and a commemorative plaque to celebrate the milestone moment, from CHP Chief Executive Stuart Stackhouse and CHP’s Older Person’s Services Manager, Sandra James.

Opened on April 23rd 1991 by the then Mayor of Chelmsford, Councillor Felicity Sturt, and Councillor Wilfred Davey, Yeoman Lodge – one of 25 of CHP sheltered schemes - has continued to provide high-quality sheltered housing for older residents, allowing them to remain as independent as possible, since its launch.

Sandra James, CHP Older Person’s Services Manager, said: “We are delighted to be able to celebrate such an important moment in CHP’s history and provide the residents - especially Mary as she has lived at Yeoman Lodge the longest out of all our tenants - with a plaque to commemorate the event.”
