CHP finalist in renowned UK Housing Awards 2018

UK Housing AwardsWe are delighted to announce we are a finalist in the renowned UK Housing Awards 2018.

Shortlisted for Development Programme of the Year (under 12,000), the award entry emphasised our ambitious development programme and our continuous commitment to regenerating communities across Essex.

Our desire for growth as a social landlord has seen us invest £48.6 million into the local economy through partnerships with local authorities and construction companies. We currently own and manage over 9,400 properties, housing over 19,000 people across Essex. Since our inception in 2002, we have built over 2,500 new homes, and hope to manage over 10,000 properties by 2020.

The accolade rounds off an excellent year for us: rated as one of the Top 50 Landlords nationwide; retaining our coveted V1 financial visibility rating from the HCA; 19 on the HQN sector growth for affordable housing list, and placing number 39 on the Inside Housing Top 50 Biggest Housing Association Builders survey 2017.

Carl Hockey, our Development and Sales Director, said: “With the help of our talented development and sales team we continue to build and acquire high-quality homes for affordable rent and private sale. It’s vitally important that we offer local people the homes they need at a price and tenure they can afford and in locations where they are needed.

“Despite exceeding our house building target last year we’re looking to continue to do even more by 2020. While we’ve set ourselves an ambitious development target for the next few years we believe it’s not only achievable but ultimately needed due to the current housing crisis.”

The awards ceremony will be held at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge on Wednesday 2nd May and will see us compete for the Development Programme of the Year award against eight other housing providers.
