Councillors tour our developments

Southend Councillors visit our developments

COUNCILLORS from Southend-on-Sea Borough Council recently received a guided tour of our award winning Green Space scheme and the Parkside Community Hub to learn more about innovative developments.

Led by Development and Regeneration manager, Carl Hockey, and Parkside Community Hub manager, Debbie Willson, the 10 councillors from the unitary authority visited Green Space - our pioneering code level-six development in Mendip Road, Chelmsford - to learn about sustainable housing.

Having also visited the Parkside Community Hub, the councillors found out more about how to redevelop and regenerate an area to provide housing, a health centre and a skills and training hub.

“The councillors were very interested in how we’ve converted former garage sites to provide residents affordable new homes, as well as continuing to help them by offering them one-to-one advice and improving their employment prospects,” said Carl Hockey, Development and Regeneration manager.
