Swift justice
Our Quality of Life (QoL) team recently acted swiftly and served a tenant, who had assaulted another resident, with an injunction within three days!
The team received a call from a female resident on a Friday stating that they had been assaulted by another female tenant near their home. On the Monday a QoL team member met the victim and obtained a detailed witness statement along with photographic evidence of her injuries.
During Tuesday morning the team member attended Chelmsford County Court – after completing all legal work in-house – and obtained from the District Judge an emergency injunction with the power of arrest attached. If the tenant makes threats or uses violence against the victim they’ll breach the injunction and potentially face a custodial sentence.
After serving the tenant with the injunction that afternoon, our QoL team was told by the resident (who had been assaulted) that not only was she “really happy with the injunction and extremely grateful for all of CHP’s assistance” but she now also feels “safe in her home”.
