We are shortlisted for two Housing Heroes awards

Housing Heroes Awards logo We are thrilled to announce we have been shortlisted for two categories in the 2018 Housing Heroes awards.

Jointly organised by housing industry publication Inside Housing and the Chartered Institute of Housing, the Housing Heroes awards celebrate and reward the work of outstanding teams and individuals in the housing sector.

The award for ‘Development or Maintenance Team of the Year’ recognises a team who has delivered an efficient, high-quality maintenance programme. Our trade team has been shortlisted for this award, having recently been accredited by the HQN for a third consecutive time. The award recognised the hard work from the team to deliver a five-star repairs service to residents, with customer satisfaction recently increasing to 97%.

Denise Kent, our Director of Commercial Services said: “The team employ hard-working, skilled professionals who work hard to get it right first time in the majority of cases. Feedback from our residents consistently tells us they’re happy with the service, and I’m delighted the team’s commitment and dedication to their job has been recognised.”

Our current chief executive, Stuart Stackhouse, has also been shortlisted for a ‘Lifetime Achievement in Housing’ award.

Stuart has spent his entire career working in housing and will step down this summer after leading the organisation for the past 16 years. Having been instrumental in overseeing the stock transfer of nearly 7,000 properties from Chelmsford Borough Council (now Chelmsford City Council), Stuart has lead our organisation from its inception and worked hard to improve properties, support staff and actively engage with residents.

Keith Andrew, Chair of our Board of Trustees said: “Stuart works extremely hard to ensure all his staff achieve their full potential, and actively engages with residents to ensure they involve themselves in the organisation. I’ve had the privilege to work alongside Stuart for many years, and I believe this honour is richly deserved.”

The winners will be announced at the Housing Heroes award ceremony on Monday 25 June at Manchester Central.
