A Neighbourhood Improvement and Community Engagement (NICE) day of action recently took place in Chelmsford. On Friday 15th April in Forest Drive, Chelmsford, members from our Quality of Life (QoL) team worked with employees from Chelmsford City Council and community officers from Essex Police to inform local residents of the dangers of drug dealers exploiting vulnerable people and using their homes to distribute from.
Other QoL team members spent the day litter picking and clearing rubbish, mowing verges and pruning hedges as well as knocking on residents doors in a bid to uncover any potential fraudulent tenancies, such as sub-letting.
Terri Cochrane, QoL manager, said: “NICE days of action are high impact; high-visibility events which provide not only the opportunity for enforcement operations but also offer the chance of an extensive clean-up campaign to improve the quality of the environment for the local community.”
