We are delighted to have secured a place for the third year running in the Inside Housing Top 50 Biggest Builders survey.
The industry publication ranked our organsiation as 41st in the country for the number of completed properties in the last financial year, which saw our Development team build 326 homes across Essex.
The properties are for a range of tenures, including social and affordable rent, shared ownership and market sale.
During the last year (1 April 2017 to 31 March 2018) our Development team was responsible for acquiring or building 414 new homes throughout the county and investing £67 million into the local economy.
Our organisation has also been ranked at number 48 out of 50 housing associations in Inside Housing’s Top 50 Biggest Builders: Pipeline as CHP’s Development and Regeneration team are aiming to complete 335 homes during the forthcoming financial year.
Carl Hockey, Director of Development said: “We’re delighted to be included in Inside Housing’s Top 50 Biggest Builders survey again. We exceeded our house building target last year and to be able to provide 326 new homes across Essex something we are incredibly proud of. We have ambitious plans and aim to complete a further 335 during the coming year and we will look to continue to develop new homes that meet local people’s needs.”
In February 2017 we began work on its biggest build project to date, at a former factory in Dovercourt, Harwich. The new development, which is due for completion in early summer 2019, will provide 66 properties for affordable rent, providing homes for local families. In October 2017 we handed over the keys to its 2,500th new build home on the site of a former football club in Tiptree.
Keith Andrew, Chair of Trustees said: “CHP has a clear aim, to provide more homes for people unable to rent or buy privately, and our inclusion in the Top 50 Biggest Builders list again for the third year demonstrates our continued commitment to supply much-needed homes in rural and urban areas across Essex.”
