We are shortlisted for three Women in Housing Awards

We are thrilled to announce we have been shortlisted for three categories in the Women in Housing awards.

Run in partnership with industry’s leading trade publication, Inside Housing, and the Chartered Institute of Housing, the Women in Housing awards recognise and celebrate the achievements of outstanding women working in housing.

Terri Cochrane, our Assistant Director of Housing Management, has been shortlisted for Women of the Year. An award which aims to recognise an inspirational ambassador for women in housing, Terri was recognised by the judges for demonstrating real leadership, a personal commitment to supporting other women in their professional development, and a willingness to speak truth to power.

Our Communications team has also been shortlisted for Marketing or Communications Team of the Year. The judges recognised the work from the team that specifically targeted women, such as campaigns over International Women’s Day and Apprentice Week.

Kay Caldwell, our Director of Housing said: “I’m thrilled we’ve been nominated for three categories in the Women in Housing Awards. I have worked with Terri for a long time, not only is she passionate in her work, but she leads by example. She’s forged great partnership links with external agencies, noticeably Essex Police which has helped achieve real results for CHP and our residents, and she is a role model to many people.”

“Our Communications team work hard to highlight the amazing work and achievements of our organisation, and are particularly committed to helping colleagues raise awareness of key issues and services to help residents get the most from their tenancy.”

Lastly, we have been nominated for Employer of the Year,  highlighting our commitment to building a culture and environment in which women can thrive and prosper. Showcasing our work with both residents and staff, the submission detailed the organisations’ commitment to include women in all aspects of the business.

Keith Andrew, our Chair of the Board of Trustees said: “As an organisation and provider of housing, CHP put inclusion into the heart of everything they do, and I’m delighted they have been nominated for Employer of the Year. It’s important to all of us that everyone feels they have an equal opportunity to succeed, whether they work for us or live in one of our properties, and I’m delighted this has been recognised.”

The award ceremony will be held at the Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Club on Thursday 11 October, where the results will be announced.
