We launch 1,500th new build home

we launch 1,500th new build home

WE recently celebrated a milestone moment by launching our 1,500th new build property in Colchester.

Working with Colchester Borough Council, construction company, Taylor Wimpey, and employer’s agent, Oxbury & Company, the properties in Goojerat Road have been built to provide local residents with eight, four-bedroom homes for affordable rent.

To celebrate the launch of the 1,500th new build property, resident Mrs Rooney collected the keys to her new home from our Chair, Ursula Heelis, and our Development and Regeneration manager, Carl Hockey.

Helping the residents settle in to their new homes, staff members held a sign-up meeting prior to handing over the keys allowing the residents to meet their new neighbours before they moved in. It also allowed our staff to talk to the residents about how they can become involved and influence the company’s decisions.

Meeting our objective to provide affordable homes for local people throughout the county, the properties have all been built to meet a level-three rating under the Government’s Code for Sustainable Homes.

Carl Hockey said: “We are delighted to have launched our 1,500th new build property. All of the homes in Goojerat Road meet our objective of providing high-quality, affordable houses for local people.”
