THE Mayor of Chelmsford, Councillor Robert Villa, has praised us for providing homes of “high standards” to local residents.
Speaking at the launch of our latest development in West Belvedere Terrace, Danbury, Essex, Councillor Villa joined our Chair, Ursula Heelis, to officially open the scheme.
Built on the site of one of our former sheltered schemes, which was uneconomical to renovate, the development features eight two-bedroom homes for social rent which have been prioritised for people with a local connection to the area.
Working with its partners, Chelmsford City Council and developers, DCH Construction, the eight properties all meet the Secure by Design and Lifetime Homes Standards and have been awarded a level-four rating under the Code for Sustainable Homes.
“It is lovely to see that CHP have maintained the high standards of these premises – even as we approached this development we thought how wonderful it looked,” said Councillor Villa.
“Every town is addressing an urgent need to provide affordable housing, so well done CHP which is still maintaining its main aim of providing good houses and services for residents.”
Chair Ursula Heelis commented: “We are delighted to have been able to renovate the site to provide high-quality affordable homes for residents – especially as some of the younger people have local connections to the area.
“I would also like to congratulate all those who have been involved for building these absolutely lovely new homes.”
