We support Gas Safety Week

Gas Safety imageWE have joined a number of businesses to support this year’s Gas Safety Week.

Organised by the Gas Safe Register - the government’s approved list of legal gas engineers in the UK after it replaced CORGI in April 2009 - the week takes place from the 10th to the 16th September 2012 and aims to raise awareness of gas safety and the importance of maintaining gas appliances in the home.

Working with our Gas Safe Registered partners, Carillion Energy Services PLC, we annually conducts gas, oil and solid fuel boiler checks in all of our properties throughout the county.

Marion Jordan, Repairs Manager, said: “The welfare of our residents is paramount so we are supporting Gas Safety Week for the second year running to help raise awareness of how important it is to make sure that residents have their boiler and heating system checked every year.

“We would urge all of our residents to contact us if they have any concerns about their heating system.”

Paul Johnson, Gas Safe Register Chief Executive, added: “Every year, far too many people suffer from preventable gas related accidents, such as gas leaks, explosions, fires and carbon monoxide poisoning.

“With Gas Safety Week we want to encourage the public to only use Gas Safe registered engineers to fit, fix and service their gas appliances and to raise awareness of the importance of having an annual safety check.”
