We support Gas Safety Week

Gas Safety Week

WE have joined a number of national businesses to support this year’s Gas Safety Week.

Organised by the Gas Safe Register - the government’s approved list of legal gas engineers in the UK after it replaced CORGI in April 2009 - the week takes place from the 16th to the 22nd September 2013 and aims to raise awareness of gas safety and the importance of maintaining gas appliances in the home.

Working with our Gas Safe Registered partners, we annually conduct gas, oil and solid fuel boiler checks in all of our properties throughout the county. This year we are joining companies such as Currys, Homebase, B&Q, British Gas, E.O.N. and N Power to name a few.

Gavin Page, Repairs and Planned Works manager, said: “Gas Safety Week is a calendar event for us so we are supporting it for the third year running. Campaigns such as Gas Safety Week are vital in raising raise awareness of how important it is for our residents to have their boiler and heating system checked annually. We would urge all of our residents to contact us immediately if they have any concerns about their heating system.”

Russell Kramer,Gas Safe Register Chief Executive, added: “Gas Safety Week is a campaign that has helped people realise that gas incidents can happen to them and they now understand that to stay safe they need to get their appliances checked regularly.”
