We are pleased to announce our new Chief Executive Mary Gibbons has formally started her new role.
Mary Gibbons said: “I’ve already had the opportunity to meet a number of our residents and I am keen to learn about their priorities as customers. After meeting with various teams in the organisation, it’s been a pleasure to witness their passion and dedication towards our customers. I am delighted to join CHP at such an exciting and important time.
“I very much look forward to working with everyone at CHP and our stakeholders, building on strong foundations and delivering an ambitious agenda for the future.”
Keith Andrew, our Chair of the Board of Trustees added: “I’m happy to welcome Mary to CHP. As a leading provider of affordable housing, it’s important to find a Chief Executive who embraces our values and bring the appropriate professional expertise required to the role. We are all looking forward to working with her to improve communities, services and homes for our customers.
“Mary has a wealth of experience in the housing sector, and is ideally placed to continue the excellent work of our departing Chief Executive, Stuart Stackhouse.”
Our outgoing Chief Executive, Stuart Stackhouse will step down after leading the organisation for 16 years. Instrumental in the inception of our organisation, Stuart successfully oversaw the stock transfer of more than 6,000 properties from Chelmsford Borough Council (now Chelmsford City Council). During his time Stuart has successfully ensured the organisation has become one of the largest providers of affordable housing in Essex, with high levels of service performance and customer satisfaction.
Mary joins us from Hundred Houses Society, a housing association in Cambridge, where she served as Chief Executive. Prior to this, Mary has held senior positions including Housing Director and Executive Director of Strategy and Support at Swan Housing Association.
Having studied Housing Management and Development at Anglia Ruskin University in Chelmsford, Mary holds an MBA from the University of Essex and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing. Currently an Advisory Board Member with Essex Business School, Mary is also a Non-Executive Director at Origin Housing.
