Extreme heat warning - advice for staying safe

alt=

A red extreme heat warning has been issued for Monday 18 July and Tuesday 19 July. This is the highest warning level issued by the Met Office, meaning there is a potential risk to life.

We’re already taking steps to protect our vulnerable customers, but we’re asking everyone to take precautions to ensure the extreme temperatures don’t harm you or anyone you know.

Please stay well hydrated, and take water with you if you are travelling. Stick to shaded areas as much as possible when outside, and apply sunscreen regularly. Stay cool indoors, and close curtains on rooms that face the sun to keep indoor spaces cooler.

Please also check in on vulnerable neighbours, friends and relatives if you can.
