Training and support

We want our employees to feel well equipped to do their jobs. We provide training and support where needed so that our employees can carry out their roles effectively. We believe learning and development is vital not only for individual success, but also team and organisational success. We encourage skills and knowledge development whatever stage of career you're at and will always support your personal development.

Online learning

We have an eLearning system, called CHProgress, which offers over 800 courses on topics from wellbeing to finance and business skills to housing. Some of the courses have been adapted so they’re specific to us. When a new starter joins, they’re automatically assigned a learning path to help them kickstart their journey at CHP.

External training courses

We support employees by paying for external training courses which they can take part in during working hours. We encourage employees to be proactive and identify their own training requirements, but they’ll be supported by their managers to balance the needs of the business with their career aspirations.

Professional bodies

We’ll pay the annual membership subscription to an appropriate professional body if it’s of benefit to your role. Some of our colleagues are part of the Chartered Institute of Housing, the Chartered Institute of Marketing, the Institute of Leadership and Management and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, for example.

Qualifications

We support employees who want to gain qualifications related their role and the housing industry. These qualifications will be funded by the Government Apprenticeship Levy where possible or may be paid for by us if they’re unavailable through the levy. Employees that undertake qualifications are supported by their managers and our Learning and Development Team throughout their period of study and will be given study time and exam leave.
