Recent public consultation on the proposed regeneration of Andrews Place

Local residents and neighbours had the chance to engage with the team behind the proposed regeneration of Andrews Place and Rainsford Lane in Chelmsford at a public consultation event, held on Thursday 12 May.
We hosted the event with our partners to showcase our plans for a multi-generational community that would address the rising housing demand in the local area.
The proposed development aims to boost the number of affordable homes in the area – providing a mix of family houses, apartments and homes dedicated for older people.
Our plans also include a number of large green spaces and improved pathways, with an ambition to protect and preserve a number of established trees in the area.
We welcomed more than 50 attendees to the event where architects, community leads and developers were on hand to walk visitors through design concepts and answer questions. It’s important to us that we hear from our customers and the wider community. Naturally, people have questions, and events like this have been essential in helping us shape our proposed plans.
Feedback on key issues such as traffic flow, impact of construction and access to local services was welcomed by the project team, who were able to reinforce the commitment to ensuring the development adds value to the area.
Residents and local people can stay up to date via the website and are welcome to provide feedback and questions via the contact us section on the Andrews Place area of our website
With plans expected to be submitted later this year, the proposed development represents a significant opportunity to deliver much-needed multi-generational housing and a place where local people can feel proud to live.
