Tips to help keep your home warm for less

alt=

Energy bills are set to rocket by around £700 a year for a typical household next month.

Bills are rising because of the energy price cap, which is the maximum price suppliers can charge households for their energy. The cap will rise to 54 percent in April and has been driven by the record rise in global gas prices over the last six months. This is set to put a huge strain on many people’s finances.

Whilst there isn’t much you can do about wholesale energy prices, there are some simple steps you can take to help keep your home warm while saving money on your energy bills.

  1. Use radiator reflectors to reflect heat back into the room.
  2. Place draught excluders by doors and windows to stop any cool breezes coming in.
  3. Hang thick curtains to minimise heat loss.
  4. Keep radiators clear to maximise their output.
