Earlier this year we launched our Connecting Communities, Homes, and People initiative, an exciting new opportunity which is aimed at us getting to know our customers better.
We want to find out more about you and what you need from us to live well in your home. To achieve this, we’re delivering a wide range of events and other activities that everyone at CHP, and our customers, can get involved in.
We’ve already held community events across different parts of Essex, including ‘meet CHP’ days, neighbourhood clean-ups, community get-togethers, and sheltered housing coffee mornings. The reaction to the first few events was fantastic, and it was a great opportunity for some of our ‘back office’ teams to get out and meet customers.
Coming up in the next month or so, we’ve got coffee mornings taking place, at several of our sheltered housing schemes. These include Carstone Place (19 October), Landers Court (19 October), Mackie House (2 November), Napier Court (16 November), and Oxney House (30 November). Members of our Leadership Team will be joining these events to chat to residents. We’ve also got action days and estate clean-ups set to take place at Belle Court in Clacton-on-Sea (26 October) and Riparian Square in Colchester (5 December).
Our Parkside Community Hub on Melbourne Avenue in Chelmsford will also be hosting an event on 26 October to help customers prepare for winter. We’ll be offering tea, coffee, and cake, and talking to you about managing your heating. We’ll be providing advice on damp, mould, and condensation, and you can talk to us about welfare benefits and managing your money.
As well as events, this initiative has launched our customer visits programme. We frequently visit customers' homes to carry out repairs, complete safety checks, or discuss specific concerns that you have. But what we haven’t done so far is deliver an organised programme that makes sure all our tenants get a visit. Our aim is to visit every home over the next two years. The visit will give you the chance to discuss anything that we might be able to help you with, or do better, as well as making sure that the household details we have about you are correct and up to date. We look forward to seeing you soon!
