Migrating to Universal Credit

If you've had a Migration Notice telling you one or more of your current benefits will be ending soon, we can help you move over to Universal Credit.
Benefits are ending
The following benefits are legacy benefits, and have ended or will be ending soon.
- Working Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit (known as ‘tax credits’).
- Income Support.
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA).
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA).
- Housing Benefit (only ending for working-aged people who aren't in supported or temporary accommodation).
When you need to migrate
If you get a Migration Notice letter, it’s important that you move over to Universal Credit before the deadline date stated on your letter. If you don’t, you’ll stop receiving financial support as your other benefits will be stopped.
If you can't claim by your deadline, contact the Universal Credit Migration Notice Helpline on 0800 169 0328, Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm.
