Mutual exchange form

Please note, everyone involved in the mutual exchange will need to complete their own application form, even if they're not a Delta customer.

If you complete this form we'll store and process your data in accordance with the requirements of our Data Protection Policy and in keeping with the Data Protection Act. Please see our  Privacy Notice [pdf] for more information.

Before you begin, please note that:
• if you’re a current Delta customer or you’re moving to a Delta property, you should complete all 10 sections of this form. Otherwise, please complete sections 1-4 and section 10;

• separate forms must be completed by the home’s current tenant and the tenant moving into the home;

• customers who are in rent arrears can apply for a mutual exchange, but won’t be able to move in until the arrears have been cleared;

• if your application is accepted, you’ll need to make your first rent payment for your new home before you move in. This will usually be one month’s rent in advance. This is refundable if your mutual exchange falls through.


Once we receive correctly completed application forms from you and your mutual exchange partner, we have 42 days to decide whether to agree to the exchange. This 42-day deadline is not the date by which the exchange will be completed. If you’re exchanging with someone from another housing association, please note that the other organisation may have a different timescale to give their decision.
